Gene Chiarello

Prior to joining Rousseau Mazzuca, Gene practiced at a midsized law firm in London, Ontario.

Gene has a diverse background in commercial litigation including employment, human rights, real property, and education law matters. Gene also has extensive experience working in the energy sector, particularly on behalf of landowners whose properties are affected by energy infrastructure such as pipelines, hydro corridors, and wind turbines.

Gene has represented clients in the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Justice and various administrative tribunals across Ontario.

Gene brings a varied personal background to the practice of law. After a four-year career as a goaltender for the Ontario Hockey League’s London Knights, Gene obtained an athletic scholarship to the University of New Brunswick where he was a perennial Academic All-Canadian and member of the varsity hockey team. After graduating with his Bachelor of Arts, Gene obtained his Bachelor of Education and worked briefly as a school teacher. Outside of work, Gene enjoys working with athletic and charitable organizations and has become a sought-after keynote speaker on the topics of leadership and team building.
