Alyssa K. Wiebe

Alyssa is a lawyer at Rousseau Mazzuca LLP. Alyssa’s practice focuses on civil litigation and construction law.

Prior to joining Rousseau Mazzuca, Alyssa articled at a fast-paced criminal law firm.  She subsequently joined a full-service firm where she practiced civil litigation, including employment and real property disputes.

Alyssa received her Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. Prior to that, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba, majoring in History. She is called to the Bar in both Ontario and Manitoba.

Outside of the office, Alyssa is passionate about seeing live music, cycling, and long-distance running. She also sits on the Board of Swimmingly, a charity providing swimming instruction to children with special needs at community swimming pools.

Representative work:

  • Succeeded in a five-day jury trial

  • Successfully argued novel issue of ownership in cemetery plots

  • Represented an owner in an appeal of an arbitration on breach of contract and negligent construction dispute, valued at over $1,500,000

  • Represented multiple homeowners in action for faulty construction, fraudulent misrepresentations, and inadequate inspections

  • Represented a contractor in appeal of summary judgment for outstanding invoices of approximately $1,000,000

  • Represented shareholders of a corporation to force sale of $4,000,000 property held by the corporation
